Felt Sculptures
Take a handful of wool, and turn it, like magic, into a felt sculpture.
Felting is done by stabbing into wool with a special needle which has the finest barbs. Gradually the sculpture takes shape, and I am used now to a point at which it looks rubbish and I think 'this isn't working', trusting, and then seeing it transform into the shape I'm after.
I usually begin by downloading a picture of the animal or bird, making a foundation shape then carefully blending the wools to get the exact colouring I'm after. It's a bit like painting, but with wool.
It's a slow process, each sculpture can take many hours or even days to make, so prices vary accordingly. If you want to commission a piece I suggest you contact me first (see contacts page) and we can talk about it.
